What is UPSC?

The Full form of UPSC is Union Public Service Commission. One of the most competitive and prestigious exams, civil services, is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), India’s major regulating body. UPSC also conducts several competitive exams to fill in various civil service vacancies for the government of India. The UPSC conducts the Civil Services Examination (CSE), popularly known as IAS (Indian Administrative Service) exam. It is conducted in two phases namely- UPSC Prelims and UPSC Mains. The prelims exam comprises objective-type questions, while the questions asked in the mains need descriptive and essay-type answering. The UPSC is responsible for conducting various examinations for the post like IAS, IPS, IFS, etc.

UPSC CSAT Syllabus

The General Studies Paper-II in UPSC Prelims is often referred to as CSAT or Civil Services Aptitude Test. The CSAT exam has been part of controversy ever since its introduction. A section of candidates has alleged that CSAT is negatively biased towards them. In 2014-2015, CSAT was declared to be a ‘Qualifying Exam’ with a 33% pass criteria. The GS II or CSAT intends to check the analytical skills of the IAS aspirants. For complete details on CSAT (exam pattern, strategy, previous question papers, study material), please refer to the article CSAT 2022.

What is comprehension?

Comprehension is the understanding and interpretation of what is read. To be able to accurately understand written material, children need to be able to , decode what they read , make a connection between what they read and what they already know; andthink deeply about what they have read.

What do you mean bCy decision-making?

Decision-making is the process of making choices by identifying a decision, gathering information, and assessing alternative resolutions. Using a step-by-step decision-making process can help you make more deliberate, thoughtful decisions by organizing relevant information and defining alternatives.

What are Interpersonal Skills?

Interpersonal skills are the skills required to effectively communicate, interact, and work with individuals and groups. Those with good interpersonal skills are strong verbal and non-verbal communicators and are often considered to be “good with people”. Whether they’re used in your career or personal life, these skills are important for success.

Most of what we do in life requires interaction with other people. To be successful in your career or have meaningful friendships, it’s critical to be good at getting along with others. While interpersonal skills are often considered to be something that comes naturally, that you’re either blessed with them or not, the truth is that they can be learned. When preparing a job application, the natural tendency is to focus on technical skills. It’s only natural, as most job descriptions focus on specific requirements such as accounting, finance, Excel, financial modeling, and related skills. However, most hiring managers make their decision based on soft skills, even though they talk about all the technical skills required. According to a recent LinkedIn survey of 291 hiring managers, interpersonal skills are both more important and also harder to find. 59% of managers reported they have trouble finding people with the right soft skills.
